Mississauga ਦੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ’ਤੇ Fake Auto Insurance Policies ਵੇਚਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼; Peel Police ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ Victims ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੱਕ
Peel Regional Police ਨੇ Greater Toronto Area ਵਿੱਚ alleged fraudulent automobile insurance policies ਵੇਚਣ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ *Mississauga ਦੇ 25 ਸਾਲਾ Muhammad Raahim* ਨੂੰ charge ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Police ਦਾ allegation ਹੈ ਕਿ *April 2024 ਤੋਂ August 2026* ਵਿਚਾਲੇ accused ਨੇ customers ਨੂੰ fraudulent automobile insurance policies ਵੇਚੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ proof-of-insurance documents ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜੋ ਦੇਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ genuine ਲੱਗਦੇ ਸਨ। ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ investigators ਨੇ ਇਸ alleged scheme ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ *15 incidents identify ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ victims ਦਾ reported loss $10,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ* ਹੈ।
Peel Police ਮੁਤਾਬਕ accused ਪਹਿਲਾਂ insurance ਵੇਚਣ ਲਈ licensed ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ brokerages ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ। Allegation ਹੈ ਕਿ licence/legal authority ਨਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਉਸਨੇ policies ਵੇਚਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ।
Police ਨੇ Muhammad Raahim ਨੂੰ *26 August ਨੂੰ arrest* ਕਰਕੇ *Defraud the Public* ਦਾ charge ਲਗਾਇਆ। ਉਸਨੂੰ conditions ਨਾਲ release ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ future court appearance ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਹ allegations ਹਨ ਅਤੇ court ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜੇ prove ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਏ।
Police ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ victims ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ consumers ਨੂੰ insurance ਖਰੀਦਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ broker ਜਾਂ agent ਦਾ licence verify ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
