Australia ਦੇ *Subclass 500 Student Visa* ਲਈ English-language requirement ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜ English-speaking countries ਦੇ passport holders ਨੂੰ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ exemption ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ India ਇਸ passport-based list ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
Australian Department of Home Affairs ਮੁਤਾਬਕ *United Kingdom, United States, Canada, New Zealand ਅਤੇ Republic of Ireland* ਦੇ citizens, ਜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ respective country ਦਾ valid passport ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ Student Visa application ਨਾਲ English test score ਦਾ evidence ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ exempt ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਰ ਇਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ *ਹਰ Indian student ਲਈ English test ਦੇਣਾ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ*। ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ categories ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ exemption available ਹੈ—ਜਿਵੇਂ certain sponsored students, secondary exchange students, postgraduate research applicants ਅਤੇ specified English-medium study complete ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ applicants।
Report ਮੁਤਾਬਕ 2025 ਵਿੱਚ Australia ਵਿੱਚ *1,45,012 Indian students* ਸਨ। China ਤੋਂ 1,96,957 ਅਤੇ Nepal ਤੋਂ 71,177 students ਸਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ India Australia ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ international education markets ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ।
