ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਊਜਰਸੀ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ Governors ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ Proclamations ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ 15 ਅਗਸਤ 2026 ਨੂੰ India Independence Day ਵਜੋਂ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਦੀ Governor Kathy Hochul ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ Proclamation ਵਿੱਚ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ, ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਤਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ Indian-American Community ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਊਜਰਸੀ ਦੀ Governor Mikie Sherrill ਦੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, Healthcare, Research, Technology, Business, Public Service ਅਤੇ Community Leadership ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ Proclamations ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਡਾਇਸਪੋਰਾ ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਇਹ Ceremonial Proclamations ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ Statutory Public Holiday, Paid Leave ਜਾਂ ਨਵਾਂ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਲਾਗੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
